New Relic AI tools

New Relic AI provides various tools to help you manage and understand your data and issues. These tools integrate directly into the New Relic platform and other services, offering capabilities to streamline your observability tasks. The following table lists the available tools, their functions, and how you can access them.

Translates natural language data queries into NRQL, executes them, and displays results instantly.

Head over to Ask AI and post your query in natural language, for example, "Are there any issues of CRITICAL priority in the last 24 hours?"

Issue Summary

Issue Impact

Analyzes the potential impact of a New Relic issue on the end user.

Access it in the "What's impacted?" widget in Response Intelligence.

New Relic DocSearch

Searches New Relic’s official, regularly updated documentation for accurate product and service information.

Head over to Ask AI and post your query in natural language, for example, "How can I create a new dashboard?"

Issue Insights

Provides insights into an issue, including root cause analysis, the impact of the issue, and recommended mitigating actions.

This tool is invoked as a part of the New Relic AI outbound integration with ServiceNow's Now Assist. To learn more, refer to Getting Started with New Relic Agentic Integration.

Similar Past Issues Analysis

Provides a summary of similar past issues, along with links to the retrospective documents for detailed analysis.

Access it in the "What happened previously?" widget in Response Intelligence.

Retro DocSearch

Provides a summary of similar past issues, along with links to the retrospective documents for detailed analysis.

Access it in the "What happened previously?" widget in Response Intelligence.

Summarise NRQL Result

Provides a natural language summary of an NRQL result.

After an NRQL is generated using natural query language on Ask AI, you will see a button to summarise the results.

Dashboard Analysis

Summarises a dashboard with key insights and actionable suggestions.

Open up a dashboard and post your query on Ask AI, for example, "What is this dashboard showing?" or "Can you suggest any improvements to this dashboard?"

CCU Consumption

Retrieves the New Relic compute usage also known as CCU for the current accountID. It should not be confused with concurrent user stats. This tool can be used to describe feature wise CCU breakdown.

Head over to Ask AI and ask "What is the feature-wise CCU consumption for last 15 days?"

Create Synthetic Monitoring

Creates New Relic synthetic monitors.

Head over to Ask AI and ask "Can you create a synthetic monitor to test http://newrelic.com?"

Support Cases Lookup

Returns the status of your support tickets.

Head over to Ask AI and post your support ticket related queries.

Alert Condition Recommendation

Recommends an alert condition for any entity domain and type, provided there is a list of entity names or an operator with a search string.

Go to the APM entities page and post your query on Ask AI: "Can you give more details about the alert gaps in the APM entities?"

Alert Coverage Gaps

Returns entities that do not have an alert.

Head over to Ask AI and post your query in natural language, for example, "Which entities do not have alert conditions?"

Alert Intelligence Report

Provides detailed insights into your application's alert history and current issues, enabling you to identify and address any problems that may arise. This can help you ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience.

Accessed it via the GitHub Copilot integration.

Change Intelligence Report

Provides detailed insights into your application's performance and stability following each new deployment and enables you to identify and address any issues that may arise. This can help you ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience.

Fetch Top Deviations

Retrieves the top most deviating entities in your system.

On Ask AI, ask "Show me the top 5 deviations in the last 12 hours?"

Summarize Logs

Generates a natural language summary of log data.

Follow the call to action (CTA) on the logs page, which opens the summary in Ask AI.

Summarize Stack Trace

Provides a natural language summary of a given stack trace.

Follow the call to action (CTA) in the errors inbox.

Logs Parsing Pattern Generator

Automatically generates Grok or Regex patterns for parsing log data, helping you get more value from logs.

From logs management, click Parsing in the left tab and then the Create parsing rule. Then, follow the instructions in the parsing rule and output section.

Session Replay Trail Analyzer

Summarizes session replay recordings by condensing event trail data into digestible insights.

Follow the call to action (CTA) on the Session Replay player page, which opens the summary in Ask AI.

Navigation Tool

Automatically suggests the most relevant New Relic UI page to resolve your problem. This helps you quickly pinpoint critical data, ensuring faster troubleshooting and minimal impact on business operations.

Invoke the Navigation Tool through other tools, like the "How to" with New Relic Docs tool.

Fix Code Errors in Codestream

Identifies and suggests fixes for code errors within Codestream.

While using Codestream, enter a question like “help me fix this error” in the Ask AI panel to see suggested fixes. Codestream can even make the code changes for you.

Entity Lookup

Retrieves alert status, reporting status, URL, and tags for an entity by its name, domain ID, or ID.

Prompt Ask AI to learn tell you about an entity. For example, “Tell me about the Checkout Service entity.”
